Important notice

We cannot guarantee that 100 Mbps speed works properly in every apartment. Especially Servin-Maijan tie 6, 10 and 12 have poor-quality cabling.

Network adapters

Trinet recommends Intel network adapters:

• Intel PRO/100 S Desktop Adapter (PCI)
• Intel PRO/1000 GT Desktop Adapter (PCI)
• Intel PRO/1000 PT Desktop Adapter (PCI Express)

Other 10/100/1000 Mbps ethernet network adapters should work too, but Intel adapters have been quite robust and harmless.

Note: Trinet currently provides max 100 Mbps connectivity, but 1 Gbps adapters may be better investment for possible network speed upgrade in the future.

Switches

Trinet strongly recommends regular swiches over routers for sharing the connection between multiple computers. We have no recommendations for specific switch models at the moment but following may be inexpensive choises:

• D-Link DES-1005D (10/100 Mbps, 5 ports, ~ 20 €)
• D-Link DES-1008D (10/100 Mbps, 8 ports, ~ 20 €)
• D-Link DGS-1005D (10/100/1000 Mbps, 5 ports, ~ 40 €)
• D-Link DGS-1008D (10/100/1000 Mbps, 8 ports, ~ 40 €)
• HP ProCurve 1400-8G (10/100/1000 Mbps, 8 ports, lifetime warranty, ~ 80 €)
